This page lists what modeeval.com stores in your browser, what each category is for, how long it stays, and how to refuse or remove it.
What a cookie is
A cookie is a small text file that a site asks your browser to keep, so that something can be remembered between page loads — a language choice, a consent decision, or an identifier used for measurement. Related technologies do the same job by other means: local storage keeps a value in the browser, and a browser push subscription stores an identifier issued by the browser itself. Everything on this page covers all three, whatever the technical label.

The consent banner
On your first visit a banner appears at the foot of the page with two buttons, Accept and Decline. Necessary items are always active, because the page cannot be delivered without them. Optional categories — analytics and advertising — are used only if you choose Accept. Your answer is stored locally in your browser under a single key and the banner then stays out of the way.
To change your mind, clear this site's data in your browser and reload the page: the banner returns and you can answer again.
OneSignal and browser notifications
Revision alerts are delivered by OneSignal. If you submit the subscription form and your browser then asks for permission to show notifications, allowing it creates a push subscription: OneSignal stores an identifier issued by your browser, your email address, and the tags we attach to the subscription — the site domain, the optional name you gave, and the note that the source was the site form. Declining the browser prompt, or ignoring it, means no push subscription is created. You can revoke the permission at any time in your browser's site settings, which stops delivery immediately. Switching cookies off in your browser
- Chrome: open Settings, then Privacy and security, then Third-party cookies; per-site controls sit under Privacy and security, then Site settings.
- Firefox: open Settings, then Privacy and Security, then Cookies and Site Data.
- Safari: open Settings, then Privacy; per-site controls sit under Safari, then Settings, then Websites.
- Edge: open Settings, then Cookies and site permissions.
- Android and iOS: the same menus inside the mobile browser app.
Blocking all cookies is your right. Blocking the necessary category may mean the consent banner reappears on every page and that some parts of the site behave oddly, since the browser is being asked to forget everything between loads.
Do we track you across other sites?
We do not build reader profiles, and we do not combine your reading with data from other publishers. Advertising partners may use their own identifiers within their own networks; that happens only under the advertising category, and only if you accepted it.
